DUMC Missions Picnic will be on August 1 following worship.  Wear your picnic clothes, bring a dish (salad, vegetable or dessert).  We will furnish hot dogs, hamburgers and the “fixings.”

There will be a jar for local Missions donations.  Your gifts will be equally shared with Weekday Religious Education, West Rockingham Food Pantry, First Step and Mercy House.  If you wish to make a donation through the offering plate, please make checks payable to DUMC and put “Local Missions” on your envelope and on your check.

We need volunteers to help with the picnic (set-up/clean-up as well as hot dog & hamburger grill masters).   Please email Lena Osborne at and let us know how you would like to help.

HELP NEEDED:  As in the past, Dayton UMC has supported the town of Dayton with the annual Muddler event by providing a water station at the corner of Ashby and Thompson. The runners are always very appreciative for a cup of water and thank the church for providing it.  If you have time your help is needed on Saturday, August 7.  There is a sign-up sheet with times available on the narthex table. This is a great outreach for DUMC.

Scholarships-The UMW wanted to remind all of our college/university students that the deadline for submitting a letter of request for scholarship for the 2021-2022 school year is August 1.  Please submit these letters to the church as soon as possible.

School Kits-The UMW have completed sending the school kits for this school year.  If you would like to get an early start, now is a great time to collect some school supplies for kits next year.  School supplies are currently on sale for back to school.  It is a great time to stock up!
